Last night, we had the pleasure of attending the inaugural “Refashioning History” exhibition and juried design show at the Dawes House, hosted by the Evanston History Center. The event was a delightful blend of live music, creative designs, and historical inspiration.
We enjoyed live performances by Ezekiel Navarro and Abigail Stoner on a beautiful lake front terrace, while sipping delicious cocktails and savoring treats from Beth’s Little Bake Shop. The atmosphere was enchanting and set the perfect tone for the evening.
The designs on display were nothing short of creative and innovative. Some of my favorites included creations by Kaine Bautista, Gregory Graham, Maribel Melanson, and Jess Crane. It was fascinating to see the pieces that inspired these modern designs, adding depth and context to the fashion showcased.

A very special thank you to Wintrust Bank for our tickets. Congratulations to the winners of last night’s show: Kaine Bautista, Abeline Glenzinski & Riley Trzeciak, Gregory Graham, and Maribel Melanson, who were presented by the esteemed Tommy Walton.

The “Refashioning History” showcase beautifully demonstrated how fashion can be both an art and a narrative, weaving together the threads of past and present. It was a night filled with creativity, inspiration, and celebration of the talents that continue to elevate the fashion scene. We look forward to more events that merge history and style, and can’t wait to see what these talented designers will create next.
